First Post!

Greetings! As we prepare to embark on our first "real" camping trip in our RV, I decided to start this blog to document all of our travels and have somewhere to post our stories and pictures from our adventures. We have camped on weekends at parks a couple of hours away, and we have camped for over a week at the beach several times. However, we've never traveled where we were moving around from place to place every one or two nights and driving relatively long distances in between. It'll be a new experience for us, and one that we look forward to. I hope we enjoy this lifestyle because we have big plans for next summer if we do.

We've also never traveled in this camper, a fifth wheel we bought off Craigslist, one that had already been all over the country with a nice, retired couple. It's by far larger than our other RVs, with a slide out and lots of storage. We can't wait to try it out. Hopefully we won't be drowning in groceries, which we never seem to be able to store effectively when we go on weeklong trips. That is my hope, anyway.

This trip we will spend a week traveling up through Virginia to the Virginia Creeper Trail, Montecello, Colonial Williamsburg, and finally to the Outer Banks of NC, with a seven and four year old in tow.  We will also continue homeschooling while on the road. I have lesson plans! I want the kids to make journals of their week activities as well, which will be something new we've never done.  In the meantime, I have lots of packing to do and some last minute details to wrap up. Not to mention our first day of co-op to get through Thursday morning.  Excuse me while I get to work.
